simple, those of us who have not yet made a decision about the courses that we need to take would think twice (before the 10th grade) about it after we get to know the reality of where the Bachelors in Engineering are !!

Decisions are not made by posting on discussion boards. they are to be based on ones own capabilities, abilities, interests etc. Do not do something coz ur friends are doing or because there is demand. do what ur interested to do and be happy.

Decisions are also based on, apart from what all you have mentioned, whether we can earn our living as we get out of our universitie ! That depends upon the market and the projected trend and obviously our interest/capacity. Now this interest could depend upon so may factors of exposure.. one of them being a discussion on similar boards.

True, I agree, bt remember one thing, most people read newspapers and make decisions and most people give suggestions even when they dont know abt it, thats the problem. its ok if u listen to some one who knows something and most of the time u wont find the right person who will guide u. thats y i say, u have to make an independent decision so that u will not blame others later.its a difficult one, but u will see ur confidence building when u take ur own decisions. i went against everyone including my parents and joined a not so well known branch in a topnotch rather than joining CSE/ECE in Osmania or JNTU, then i didnt join a high paying IT job, coz it wanted to study abroad. i made the touch decision thinking abt the future, literally fighting with my family members and many times regretted because it was hard when people ridicule my decisions, but in the end i finished everything and settled and happy, no complaints what so ever and my family now say \"we always thought u were confused and was making wrong decisions\". most importantly , as i said, i have the confidence to make my own decisions. So, the Secret is \"BE UR SELF\". I have an Idea, i am totally against Mr.CB Naidu opening many engg colleges, but in a way, it will reduce unemployment, try working as lecturer in new engg colleges

I wud like to know what all I can thru all the sources and make my own decision. I may be making mistakes, so what? I have, in turn learnt, right? so I have learnt to listen to the experienced, i have learnt to get my info from all the other sources and I have also learnt to make a logical judgement and learnt to give myself the space of possibly making a mistake too. and the most wonderful thing that i wud have learnt is self-confidence :)
Guess we are speaking of the same stuff, using diff words, nai?!!

Yes Ms.Devi, i agree. To Mr. Srikanth: Believe in yourself and recognize/realize the opportunities, they don\'t come to u! It\'s not necessary that u have to do something related to what u study, u can do anything by taking a calculated risk.
