I have a question: When some Hindi film songs talk about 'dard', what exactly do they mean? :? Is it that they love so much it hurts? I dont get it. Plz, someone explain.

may be the "dard" is abt: 1) not being able to date the lover regularly 2) not being able to kiss or **** coz the lover is a prude 3) not being able to propose 4) not being able to convince papa n momma to agree to the marriage.....n-number of things....

Well,it depends on the context of the song and the mood of the characters during the song and the scenario they are in.Most hindi movies portray 'Dard' as being pain due to separation,longing,away from beloved etc etc....



Other synonyms are also widely used such as: Ghum,taqleef,tadap,dukh....
