Hi!

Me is also in love with Graphics. Worked as a Graphics Designer for my father (<-- Hard taskmaster, me dad!) for 2 years and designed a lot of stuff for him. And I am 26.

Just realised its been 16 years since I wrote my first computer game in BASIC 8)

Anyway I use Photoshop CS at work, and GIMP for my personal use. I don't use pirated software for commercial purposes. I also use Flash MX sometimes.

Right now, I'm in love with image generation modules and plugins to dynamically generate GIF, JPG and PNG images. In short, I've been writing scripts in PHP and Perl to generate images that contain customised data (like my signature below).

Thats nice! I worked on my Dad's site but did it mostly in CSS. I hate graphics when there's the option of CSS (unless gradients are involved).

... and I am 28.

Hi.

Speedy, nice of you to start this thread.

I am into 3d modeling and related stuff. Currently i am working as as research assistant/software developer at my school's visualization lab. I cannot show you the stuff i do at work, but i will post my old 3d modeling work when i get home [I was too busy to host them on my website. I should scour my cd backup's]. My tool is Blender, using which, I recently taught Low poly 3D modeling for games to 12 kids. It was fun.

and, FTR, i am 24. I was wondering if there are any game development studios in Hyderabad? Anyone know?

Hi Speedy.

We do have 3DS Max on our lab machines, but I seldom use it. It has been Blender all the way for 2 years.

Btw, the link does not work for me.

I have come to know about Blender lately, a few days ago. Don't have much idea about it, tell me what are the features you like the most about it.

Hi.

The features that I like most about Blender are:

1. Highly customizable interface

2. Small memory footprint.

3. Very fast viewport navigation.

4. It supports python scripting.

5. Has builtin game engine to test ideas. Without any programming knowledge, you can build small games/simulations using its Logic Bricks interface.

in addition to above,

6. Excellent community. http://www.elysiun.com

7. Its free and is developing at an extremely fast pace.

8. I contributed 50$ to the Blender Foundation to free the source code from its owners, NaN. A total of 100,000 dollars was collected in a span of one month. People from all over the world made contributions.

Overall, Blender serves my purpose. No feature bloat. In the coming few years, it will gain more popularity and wide acceptance.

Hope you enjoy blender.
