The past 5 yrs of cricket in particular, we have had the most talented player but no result dude.

when the 1983 Minnows could do it, why cant todays stalwarts.

Have the priorities changed now, is it more personal and commercial ?
This is just our question

we have the three best batsmen in the world in our team, and yet we dont win. you are right about that. but have you ever wondered WHY?

its not because they appear in commercials. for gods sake, they shoot these ads when they are back home in India... and it hardly takes any time to shoot one. they dont sacrifice their net practise sessions and go for modelling. give our cricketers a break! the brian lara's and steve waugh's of the world love appearing in ads as well.. even they can use some extra money. unfortunately, cricket is not a major sport in west indies and australia so they rarely appear on ads in their own country. but they take an offer when it comes -- remember the MRF ad campaign in india?

the reason why we havent been winning regularly, with consistency as u say, is because cricket is a TEAM game and everyone needs to contribute for a victory. blaming dravid or tendulkar for scoring a 100 when the Team has lost, is illogical.

on the point of playing for personal gains...the other day I saw the shot flintoff played when he was on 99..agreed that it was in the slog overs but would any player from our present team do that? or for that matter any player from all the other teams...

the "minnows" of 1983 were a talented bunch whose gentle medium pace bowling suited the conditions there.... fortune favoured our brave cricketers in that tournament, as kapil dev exemplified against zimbabwe.

however, to criticize the current team is wrong. your team of 1983 was whitewashed when west indies toured india later that year. ups and downs are part of cricket.

as for our achievments in the past one year, i think HP has already listed them out. this team has done what no other team of the past has done

(1) beat pakistan in pakistan, won the series (historic)

(2) beat australia in a test in australia, drew the series (historic)

(3) won a test match in england after many years

(4) reached the finals of the world cup

this is a team that has been creating history. lets stick with it in its hard times (with sehwag and laxman out of form, and with tendulkar not playing)

Well said....and I second it.

And I'm just waiting for the lads to go all out in the champions trophy and throw some dung on the faces of all who have been criticising them.

We'll have to wait-'n'-watch.

I'm with HP and rainmaker on this. The problem with most of the Indian fans is that they have short-lived memories. One bad inning and there are talks criticising that player as if he never played before and then all is suddenly forgotten when he plays a good knock and the circle continues

As someone said earlier, lets just stick by our side and hope 4 the best :D
Things are supposed to happen the way they happen. And the reason they happen the way the happen is because you try to make them happen in a certain way and may or may not be succesful.

most of the crickers are...incl the God, Sachin. my friend's cousin was a member of Haryana cricket team and he used to move closely with the national team on many occassions. He used to tell abt the off-the-field 'adventures' of our heroes on tours!

btw, i dont see anything in it to villify them...they are making use of chances that are thrown at them. this Gujju chick u talked abt...they slept with her coz she wanted to sleep with some celebrities...why blame only the cricketers for that?

btw, u have her emailid...? i want someone to practice my gujrati with....:D

i am not really blaming them, just calling them sleezy and muthaf******, instead of trying to get lucky with chicks, try to get lucky with the game. thats all i am asking them for.

anyway about the gujju chick, i guess she is gettin married soon.

n yeah,,, she did want to get laid by celebrities.

Yeh, Cricketers are well known flirts.

They had come to Nagpur , and my Chinese friend was making them dance to her tune. Ddint do anything with them, just flirted. But she told me that most of them are bloody cads (sorry CAD!)

i think he will prefer a shot between the fine legs.
