People dissing cricket here should not forget that its not something that you learn once and keep doing it for the rest of your life. Its a game. Things go wrong. Long layoffs from the game do play their part. Undue adulation and undue criticism alternating with each other can be a harrowing experience.

Imagine this...had your teacher in school punished you one day and made you to be the best in class the next day....imagine this going on for a few weeks...how would your performance in the exam have been?

Calling for half the team to be sacked is not going to help the players' morale and neither taking that step is going to do any good to the players that come in their place. Imagine a team lead by Gautam Gambhir/Dinesh Mongia/Rohan Gavaskar being thrown at the Aussies. The Aussies would go straight for the jugular and our team would stand no chance.

wish u played cricket too, rite?

good go and tell the BCCI. U mite get the award for the best advice of the year

why...UR fav. players are they? neway by ur logic they shld. stop playing once they earn a sizeable amnt. for endorsements and play a few bad games after that.

Why do you think that I am dissing cricket? I have been watching cricket since 1985, when I was just 7 yrs old and a Hyderabadi and Azzu had just burst on the scene and bumped up Hydes interest (alongwith the World Series triumph).

That would be around 19 years of cricket-watching, times when I could/would watch/play only cricket and no other sport. And so, I have been with the ups and downs of the team. So please do not doubt my loyalty to the indian cricket team.

I dislike Cricket, not cricketers. And my islike for cricket has been formed after 19 years of playing and watching. It has been a gradual process, not like I got u one fine day and decided that cricket is bad.

All this 'Its only a game' 'winning and losing are just part of the game' stuff is true, but for the cricketers, and not for us spectators. They may have fun paying even if they are losing, but not me. If they lose I will say that they lost and played like idiots, and anyone in his right mind would rest some people (Sehvag fr'instance).

And my criticism will be there even if India won...

it certainly is. but it is nothing when compared to what top players in other sports earn.

tell me how many players u know in this team who have performed consistently badly in the last 6 mths.

Sehwag - no. it was coz. of the break that he struggled...hes now back with a bang.

Ganguly - Has been doing reasonably well,(though he scores 40s - 50s the big scores have evaded him), considering that he is the captain too.

Laxman: the most feared Indian batsman by australia.

Dravid: In top form.

Doesnt prove anything. If they played me for 10 testss, I may also hit a century (I have maybe 1% of Sehvags talent).

Hello guys, do you really think that India can beat Australia in this test series. Well I think that it would really be very tough for both the teams to win the series. Any how I wish India all the best.

well he is the fastest Indian to reach 200 runs ever. in the last 5 gaems that he has played he has made 1 300 a 150 and a couple of 50s. his form was bad in One dayers only.

the rain has undone so much of hard work.

Well, there never was any doubt about Sehvag's talent. it is his (and some other players') attitude towards hard work...

Some ppl suggested after the first game that the series is not over, what now ???

Look at the performance of Patel, Kaif and Pathan, should spell why we need to try youngsters, they have that passion to win.

The rest have made so much money that their generations can live, why toil now????

That would have been painful. First to see India lose, then to go and sit amongst Aussies :( .

In the past whenever India lost against Aussies, my Aussie colleagues used to needle us abt it in every meeting and video/tele conference we had....of corz in case India had perfomed well, we paid them back in the same coin :D
